Paying it Forward

There’s a pain point for artists that love other people’s work, and feel compelled to support other artists and solopreneurs!

If you frame is as Paying It Forward it seems to work better - for everyone - and supporting local makes big change for small businesses. When someone buys my art I always try to support another artist or maker - and I know this mindset pays dividends eventually!

“Island memories' #1’…was sold after Art In My Garden - the person who’d bought it accompanied me to another local show…and we met the most amazing maker. Katie Switzer started Form Era Studio as a slow fashion brand made in Toronto. Check them out - she will also be at One of a Kind 2025. And yes, I bought a pair of her jeans.

My companion shared that after the Art In My Garden experience she also recently sold a huge print of her work that had caught attention with one of our Retail Display Partners. Her funds paid for a marketing and social media coach… there is definitely JOY to be experienced in both selling and buying when you know you’re supporting a fellow solopreneur!

in November I’ll be chatting about the LOCAL LOVE Christmas market …more to come!
