My travels in early 2025 took me back to Sri Lanka ශ්රී ලංකා which was a homecoming of tropical force. Jewel tones, rich red earth, cinnamon, aubergine, turmeric, ginger, cloves and lemongrass, perfect tea, lush forests and azure seas. A jumble of sensations and memories.
This painting holds a special place in my heart..the vintage frame is divine (if I say so myself). I am always gathering old objects and rummaging around for antiques and quirky eclectic pieces. There’s something about the thought of stories held by objects that have travelled around the world. Cherished, carried and kept with consideration until it’s time to move on to a new owner…
