Let’s be penpals

… I’ll share tidbits of what I’m up to 3-4 times a year

A short note, nice pics and perhaps a line of poetry…

Always so much to say, but I keep my newsletters short by including photos and links to my blog.

From time to time I’ll share inspiring books or poems that guide me.

I’ll send invites to any shows I’m at and where to see my work out in the wild!

You’ll even receive links to new art and once a year I might offer subscribers a discount for a short period

I appreciate your inbox is clogged, so I appreciate you being here.

I look forward to being friends, I’ll try include a new sign-off image each time - this one is at the top of Slieve Donard, the highest peak in the Mourne Mountains. Yes it’s a bit mad but there was a gale force wind. It was hard work to the top.

Artist Statement

I am captivated by how light changes the energy and colours across our landscapes.  My art is an emotional response to this, a visual way to communicate and express my love for memories created by nature. A way to hold on to the feeling imbued in nature’s quietest, most fleeting moments.

The wild landscapes and mystical places of Ireland pull me there again and again, and in Canada I live by a lake. Water is my daily companion and the mountains and ocean skies call me to my ancestral home and to the places that ground me.

The natural landscapes of my past, my present and perhaps my future somehow make their way into each painting.

I use colour and texture layered to capture a sense of light or movement.  My work can take the shape of abstracted landscapes or places; they are not necessarily places I have been to, but are more imagined far-away places in my mind.

The art you choose..

..will always be perfect - it can evoke emotion and will have an unseen way to stay with you, which is a real gift; it can be a homecoming for your soul.
