Help my Azalea encores have brown tip leaves?

I purchased healthy Azalea Encores and they remained beautiful. Then I noticed that some of the tips on the leaves are turning brown. Now, more and more leaves are doing that. There are still healthy green leaves, and I have been watering them regularly. I can not seem to find any diseases which give this symptom. Also, they have not bloomed nor do they have any buds on them. Being encores they should bloom atleast twice a year. I live in the south and have alot of clay in the soil.

Brown leaf tips usually means not enough water– OR frosted tips in the winter. However, Azaleas love acid soil and I want to say that clay soil is more alkaline– so get the soil tested and then amend as needed– Pine needles for mulch will help– heap them on– and acid plant fertalizer. There is an azalea fertalizer.
Mine had been neglected for untold years– after I bought the house I applied the azalea fertlizer and scouted around for pine needles– they are much bigger and happier and had wonderful full blooms this year.
